This one of a kind statement necklace, Painted Desert, was created with sterling silver and a large Willow Creek Jasper cabochon that I cut and polished here in my studio. Willow Creek Jasper is found in Idaho. This is a gorgeous piece of Willow Creek, showing a large range of colors and landscape patterns. I've called this Painted Desert, as the colors are reminiscent of those colors found in the Northern Arizona Painted Desert areas.
The stone was set in layers of sterling silver with many different textures. It hangs from a heavy weight sterling silver chain - two different chain designs were used to add to the mix of textures. The piece was finished with a soft charcoal patina.
MEASUREMENTS: Chain measures 22" long. (Chain can be shortened upon request.) Stone and pendant setting measures 2-1/2" tall and 2-1/2" across.
All aspects of the design, including cutting and polishing the stone from rough rock, are created in my studio.
All jewelry includes a hang tag or earring card that includes information on the stones used for your piece and a brief description of the techniques used. Items also arrive gift-boxed and each piece of jewelry includes my maker's mark on either a silver tag or on the back of each piece.
